Our
story

MEC Museum was born from the idea of the arch. Giuseppe Forello to have a unique space where to contemplate the explosive energy of digital conquest preserved in the Apple products collection of the Jobs Foundation and live the innovative taste experiences of Chef Carmelo Trentacosti.
In the renewed high-tech setting of Palazzo Castrone, an illustrious late sixteenth-century setting in the historic center of Palermo, a stone’s throw from the Arab Norman Cathedral, the 8 MEC museum halls collect the most incredible pieces of the Apple collecting world. From the exclusive Apple I to a selection of unpublished images from the life of Steve Jobs.

Apple I

With the iPod, we left the operating systems bubble and it was great because it showed that Apple’s innovation, engineering and design really matter.

Steve Jobs

“I was on one of my fruitarian diets. I had just come back from the apple farm. It sounded fun, spirited, and not intimidating. Apple took the edge off the word ‘computer.’ Plus, it would get us ahead of Atari in the phone book.”
